Another repair

The kiln worked for 3 firings before one of the new elements burnt up and started a small fire in the control box. Luckily, it only burnt up one of the connections. I ordered a 4 pack and only got one…it’s been a mess. They’re sending the remainder or the order and I’ll have them as a backup if I ever need them again. I’ve successfully replaced the latest wrecked element and had a successful conditioning firing. All student art is on the top shelf of the kiln this time along with all of my pieces I could fit in there. This firing has only barely made a dent in the massive pile of wares awaiting firing. I have such a backlog of work due to my kiln being out of commission for so long. I’m so excited for it to be back up and running and working to help me through the pile. I’ve made it through TWO of the shorter crates worth of things. Of the 7 crates I have awaiting a first firing I’ve managed to get 2 into the kiln. Glazing is going to be another monumental task, but I’m so excited because I have so many new techniques and items in this pile (as well as some new fun earrings for myself hopefully).
